Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal Medicine Treatments
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient healing practice with over 2,000 years of history and a growing body of modern research to support it. Through the gentle placement of ultra-fine sterilized needles at specific points on the body, acupuncture restores the flow of Qi, your body’s vital energy, guiding it back toward balance and natural healing.
Acupuncture is deeply holistic by nature. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, every session is guided by a commitment to finding and addressing the root cause of what is out of balance, honoring the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, at every step of the journey.
Initial Acupuncture Appointment (90 min.) This appointment is for new patients to the practice. Your first visit is where we begin to understand the full picture of your health. We take time to discuss your history, concerns, and goals before moving into a personalized acupuncture treatment designed just for you. Depending on your individual needs, your session may also include moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, and infrared heat. All treatments are performed on a heated table for your comfort. Please allow 90 minutes for your first visit.
Follow-Up Acupuncture Appointment (60 min.) Your follow-up session builds on the foundation of your previous treatments, deepening the healing process with each visit. Depending on your individual needs, your session may also include cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, infrared heat, Chinese herbal medicine, and personalized lifestyle or nutrition recommendations. All treatments are performed on a heated table. Please allow 60 minutes.
Extended Follow-Up Appointment (80 min.) Designed for current patients who would benefit from extra time and deeper support, this extended session allows for a more spacious and restorative experience. It’s ideal if you’d like to address multiple concerns, receive treatment on both the front and back of the body, or simply have more time to relax and reset.
In addition to a full acupuncture treatment, the session may include hands-on therapies such as cupping, gua sha, or moxibustion (as appropriate), along with customized recommendations on herbs, nutrition, and lifestyle. While our 60-minute follow-ups are perfect for consistent, ongoing care and also include hands-on therapies, the 80-minute option offers additional time for expanded treatment and deeper healing when needed.

Advanced Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
(90–110 minutes)
Our most comprehensive facial acupuncture experience: A deeply restorative treatment that rejuvenates the skin and harmonizes the body from the inside out.
Each session is customized to your individual constitution, goals, and energetic needs. We always begin by addressing the whole body with acupuncture to balance internal systems, improve circulation, and support the organ networks that influence skin health and aging. By treating underlying imbalances, we restore harmony from within allowing the skin to reflect vitality, clarity, and ease.
Facial acupuncture points are then applied to lift, tone, and stimulate collagen production, softening fine lines and enhancing firmness and radiance. LED light therapy, facial gua sha, and gentle facial cupping further increase blood flow, move lymph, and release facial tension, leaving the complexion brighter, smoother, and more sculpted. The treatment concludes with high-quality Aculift skincare to nourish, hydrate, and seal in glow.
This immersive session supports the whole being, balancing energy, calming the nervous system, and revealing the natural luminosity that comes from within.
Note: You can receive Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture three weeks after Botox and up to four weeks after dermal fillers, but not sooner.
Please inform your practitioner of the areas where you’ve received injections.
A simplified yet deeply restorative version of our full Advanced Facial Rejuvenation treatment, this session focuses on revitalizing the skin and restoring inner balance through acupuncture and LED light therapy.
Each treatment includes a full-body acupuncture session tailored to your unique constitution and current needs, supporting circulation, digestion, hormonal balance, and stress relief, all of which directly influence the health and appearance of your skin. We always address the underlying imbalances of the whole body, creating the foundation for long-lasting radiance and vitality.
Gentle facial acupuncture points are then used to lift, tone, and promote collagen production, enhancing natural glow from within. LED light therapy follows to boost cellular repair, calm inflammation, and brighten the complexion.
This treatment is ideal for those seeking a restorative, lifting, skin-brightening experience that supports both the face and body, helping you feel refreshed, centered, and effortlessly radiant.
Note: You can receive Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture three weeks after Botox and up to four weeks after dermal fillers, but not sooner.

Each of the services below is commonly used alongside your acupuncture treatment. We also offer Cupping and Gua Sha as standalone treatments. (see policies and rates for pricing)
CUPPING
Cupping is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) technique that uses glass or plastic cups to create suction on the skin, typically over acupuncture points or muscles. This gentle yet powerful therapy helps release tension, improve circulation, and promote healing.
Following the TCM principle “Where there’s pain, there is stagnation. Remove the stagnation, and you remove the pain,”cupping works by drawing out stagnation—whether it be muscle knots, stuck blood, blocked energy, emotions, or toxins—allowing fresh circulation to restore balance and relieve discomfort. Cups are left in place for 5 to 20 minutes, leaving you feeling lighter, more open, and rejuvenated.
GUA SHA
Gua Sha is an ancient Chinese healing technique that involves gently scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool, typically on the back, neck, or shoulders. The term “Gua” means to scrape or rub, while “Sha” refers to the red marks that appear on the skin during treatment.
By creating light petechiae—tiny red, brown, or purple patches—Gua Sha helps release stagnation, improve circulation, and reduce pain and inflammation. Similar to cupping, these marks result from the movement of stuck blood and toxins, signaling the body’s natural healing response. With regular treatments, the marks will become lighter and appear less often—a sign of improved circulation and overall healing.
MOXIBUSTION OR ‘MOXA’
Moxibustion, or moxa, is one of the oldest healing techniques in Chinese Medicine, dating back thousands of years. It involves burning the dried leaves of Ai Ye (commonly known as mugwort) to create therapeutic heat over acupuncture points.
Moxa comes in many forms, and at our clinic, we commonly use pole moxa (a cigar-like stick of compressed mugwort held near the skin) and needle moxa (where moxa is placed on the top of an acupuncture needle to deliver warmth deeper into the body).
Often used alongside acupuncture, moxa stimulates circulation, promotes healing, and helps balance the body’s energy. The heat can be applied directly or indirectly, creating a deeply soothing and relaxing experience. Many patients find moxibustion to be a comforting, gentle warmth that enhances overall well-being.
CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE
Chinese Herbal Medicine is a powerful and time-tested healing modality that has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over 2,000 years. It consists of hundreds of medicinal herbs, which can be used individually or combined into customized formulas to address a wide range of health conditions.
When prescribed by a Chinese Medicine practitioner, Chinese herbs are safe, effective, and can significantly enhance your healing—whether used alone or alongside acupuncture treatments. Herbal formulas are carefully tailored to your unique needs and prescribed during your in-office acupuncture session.
Please note, we do not offer pediatric acupuncture. We treat adults aged 18 and up. If you need a referral for a pediatric acupuncturist, we are happy to assist.
